Lucky Hand? Just strategy, playing percentages

The other day I was playing in a nine seat sit & go. I was on the dealer button blinds are at 25/50. EVERYONE limped in with a 50 bet. I was sitting with 4/6 os. So I decided to play the percetages that most everyone was playing with paint in their hand. So that leaves a lot of little cards in the deck. Well on the flop...sure enough...2,3,5. 4 people check, fifth person bets 500...6,7,8 seat drop, I call...figured he had A/4. the other 4 drop out leaving me and this guy heads up. Turn comes a K. The other guy goes all-in, so of course I call. Turns his cards over he has KK. River did not help him. Knocks him out of the tourney. This guy railbirds me the rest of the tourney...(I went on to win).

Now, my question is...was I really wrong in playing the hand pre-flop? Considering the odds? The guy kept chatting that I was giving poker a bad name by playing that kind of hand. Granted the hand does not fit my usual conservative play, but hey the percentages were in my favor.

Comments anyone? Was I wrong or right? (Obviously I was right, it won. But everyone here knows what I mean by the question)

That is what the fool gets for slowplaying KK

As far as I am concerned you did nothing wrong. This clown on the other hand definitely did. They should have raised KK before the flop. I say anyone who doesn't raise preflop with KK or anyother premium hand preflop deserves to lose. As for him and his little remarks towards you, it was their own fault. That is exactly what I would have told them. By the way congrats on winning your sit-n-go.

If the person thinks it's best to play KK in a family pot, they should be encouraged to continue thinking like that, especially when they play in my ring game. :)

Lol, perhaps he thought he had the best hand with everyone going in for a cheap look at the flop. Obviously there he had no one but himself to blame.
