Please tell me how I should have played this based on all of the hearts...

I didnt wanna bet the flop incase somebody chases the flush with a good diamond card! And called it down because there is that slight chance he doesn't have a heart!

tonymaclenna: checks NO! Are you crazy?!! Checking only gives your opponent a free card to chase the flush. I would rather take the pot right then and there with a minimum $1 bet.
*** TURN *** [4h 9h Ah] 3♥
crouks: bets $0.10

tonymaclenna: calls $0.10 I would raise here. He might have the flush but calling his bet is not going to tell you anything about his hand.

tonymaclenna: calls $0.10 You might as well call him down here.

I didnt wanna bet the flop incase somebody chases the flush with a good diamond card! How can you chase the flush with a good diamod card when the flop is all hearts? Why do you want them to chase the flush when it beats your two pair. When you have a good hand with draws on the flop. You bet. And called it down because there is that slight chance he doesn't have a heart! Why not know for sure by raising?

Tip: Slowplaying top two pair with flush draws on the flop is a disaster waiting to happen.

Mis-type here :)

I checked on the flop because if they called down to chase then I am just throwing money away - thanks for the advice, it makes more sense and I will bear what you said in mind in the future. I wouldn't usually check with 2 pair on a flush draw - its the fact a flush is already possible and anybody with a high heart may chase.

Umm, the way you win money is to give people improper odds to outdraw on you. Bet, give him improper odds and hope he calls with a flush draw, this more profitable for you in the long run. If you are afraid of people outdrawing on you, u will never win anything.

...so you check while you're still pretty sure you're ahead, then put money in when the fourth flush card hits?

Mis-type here :)

Being so afraid of someone chasing a draw that you decide not to bet is...ridiculous. Bet when you're ahead and deny proper drawing odds (like 0:1, ie a free card).

Lead out for a solid 2/3 of the pot or more, and reevaluate if a fourth flush card hits. Not betting that flop is really, really bad.

And if you bet enough, he could've decided his flush wasn't good and you had the J, Q, or K of hearts.
