These players ruin the game experience in my opinion, but it's best to play the better hands against them. I'd rather lose and move on to the next game than just sit there stressing about it and watching this player suck everyone out hand after hand.
I have to disagree. These players are an essential part of the experience.
Just look at how slot machines work.
casinos use variance to maximize profits. No one would play
slots at all if everyone just lost 1% of their money every time they played. Instead slightly less than half of the slot players on a given day walk out with significantly more money, and slightly more than half walk out with significantly less money. The winning players come back because they want to win more. The losing players come back because they think it will be their turn to win.
Poker works the same as slots for losing players. They wouldn't stick around if they didn't have winning streaks.
A winning player should understand that random events of past have no effect on random events in the future. Just because a player has been lucky the last few hands has no bearing on whether they will be lucky in the next hand. A good player sticks to the math and the
odds. Anything else is superstition.
Once you see that, you see that the bad player is an opportunity for you to exploit, no matter how lucky he as been in the last few hands. So instead of stressing out and moving to another table or game I stick around and play against him betting on his luck running out.
Just my opinion of course.
