Hi,

I'm having trouble understanding the following hand history discussion.

Hero: :7d4::6d4: Flop: :9s4::5h4::3c4:

$65 is in the pot. Hero bets $30, and villain raises to $90.

The discussion says hero is getting 2-to-1 odds, and its 4-to-1 against him advancing on the turn.

Pot Odds. My math shows there's $185 in the pot, and hero needs to bet $60 to call. Isn't that a 3-to-1 bet ($60/$185)? Or, a ~25% pot odds? I don't see the 2-to-1.

Outs. I'm guessing the 4-to-1 on the outs is a bit of rounding. 8 outs to a straight (either a 4 or an 8) multiplied by ~2 = ~16%.

(This is in the book Advanced Concepts in No-Limit Hold'em page 206-207.)

You are right. Hero is getting 1 : 3 <=> 1/4 <=> 25%, the pot would be $185 + $60 = $245.

$60 : $185 <=> $60/$245 <=> ~25%
