had TWO runner runner draws on that flop, turned a spade but couldn't river one. Is this just a cooler or did I make a mistake somewhere in this hand?

Cooler IMO.

Glad I was there to witness it. You had to call. Pot odds. :)

well yeah, but did I play it well preflop? You think I should have just shoved pre to get value when I knew I had the best hand instead of making a standard 3-bet? Any idiots who actually think I should have folded this preflop?

...Mistake here. I couldnt get my touch pad to cooperate and bet max. Timer was activated and only had a second to decided or I wouldve folded. Was looking to shove here.
Fun hand, but very disappointed with what you had. Especially the way the hand played out and our previous encounters, I actually thought might've had at least a decent draw of sorts or a piece of that flop.

Even though I won the hand, I was heart broken. I thought today was the day I outplay the great ZachVac, but it wasnt...
oh and villain is 40/15/2.5 btw over 80 hands.
I never know what these mean....

Failed bluff. He knew I had been giving him way too much credit for hands.

Let's see. Zach knew this was UTG's last hand and that he was probably raising with some crap like JQ Sooooooted, so his original 3 bet was a pure soul read. What he failed to account for was the presents of more than 1 donk at the table and the fact the Philthy had just passed soul reading 101 a few moments earlier and had also put on his soul cloak 2 hands before this one.

All completely standard at these high limits!

Re-raised twice with 2/4os...uhh

Stealing pots are fun but come on, 2/4os? Why get yourself in trouble with this hand and keep re-raising? I don't get it at all, this is standard play at higher limits? After he raised from $1.40 to $4.70 there was no way he was going to fold, you must of wanted a showdown with your 2/4os. Hell, even if he was weak, what were you expecting? 2/3os?

unlucky imo.

you have two backdoor draws and he only has one made hand, thus making you a 2-1 favourite to win. not your fault that villain is a suckout monkey imo.

Obviously this is meta play. zach is trying to establish a maniac image that he will capitalize on once he goes back to his usual stakes.

Well in all seriousness it wasn't a horrible call considering that we were deep (didn't realize before that the max buy-in was actually 250 BBs, and both of us have more than that). If he hits a hand like he does he's hoping to get a stack out of it, and with all the callers...

No you're not missing anything, it's a horrible play that I would never had made without being at a table with CC players at those lower limits and the history of 24o. I'll go into that in a second.

Fun hand, but very disappointed with what you had. Especially the way the hand played out and our previous encounters, I actually thought might've had at least a decent draw of sorts or a piece of that flop.

Even though I won the hand, I was heart broken. I thought today was the day I outplay the great ZachVac

Well first of all we had just been talking about 24o and how I'd gotten it 3 times, once I got a walk and the other 2 I open folded it to the BB's AK. So we're literally talking about this as the cards come out and I see ... 24o. So I decide to try to steal it. 3-bet is called by 3 others. Now usually in multi-way pots (especially 3-bet preflop) people are more willing to fold their marginal hands (for good reason) so I fired out a cbet. Then Philthy comes over the top with just a little bit more than a min-raise. I'm thinking that screams "I have AK-AJ" and come over the top to represent a bigger hand than just TPTK, although thinking about the preflop action, the only hand that would make sense in that scenario would be AA. Not sure if I could have gotten you off AK or not with that raise, but I wasn't getting you off 2 pair.

Then came the really horrible part, after you re-raised if you remember I said something to the effect of "well I have 2 runner runner draws, do I have odds to call here?" as a joke before I was going to fold. But I was tired, it was the last hand, and Philthy said something to the effect of "call, I won't complain if you hit". So I was like "what the hell, it's only a little over another buck". I apologize if this thinking is offensive to people who do regularly play at these limits, but as most of you know I'm used to a little bit higher limits and although I was able to play well (although extremely lag) earlier, I had a hard time taking that extra 2 bucks seriously when I was playing 24o in the first place.

Re-raised twice with 2/4os...uhh

Well it was the last hand, and I had just finished talking about 24o. This is NOT standard play at any limits from a good player (plenty of donks who make plays not much better than this one, which is why online poker is still profitable).

:D

The funniest thing to me is what had to be going through jaxter and rrope's heads when they see this play. Both were just randomly at the table so, like a few reading this thread, they had to think we were a bunch of total donks.

You had to chase that runner-runner draw to the worst possible flush. There's just no way around it.

The Internet is a rigged super-user! My girlfriend (who goes to another school, so you don't know her) told me so!

Standard cooler. Donkey calls your 3bet with a 6 7, then hits a weak hand on the flop but still wins. You got your money in with the best of it can't do much better than that. I might have min raised preflop though to try to trap more players into calling, then you can bust them on the flop.

Oh man... I just looked up my 4/2o stats and I'm bleeding money with that hand. They almost all appear to be folded blinds. Weird.

I need to plug that leak.

No way! He'd have chased everyone off and won a small pot.
You have to milk a beauty like that.
