I think so. Because he had a great childhood friend who did everything together. He started playing poker at some friends' house, and invited me to take part in the game he always earned from me. I started practicing more and studying poker, when I started to win it, it was the end of a great friendship of 25 years. Unfortunately until today he has not overcome defeats. I do not think it's okay to play betting with your friends.

Nothing like having 8 of your buddies over and every week the same thing occurs. The same 4 get knocked out in the first hour end up drinking nonstop. Whilst the same 2 guys end up head to head taking all of their money. Didn't end friendships, but surely ended poker night. Maybe I just need more friends better at poker.

A true friend I can never see Poker ruining a friendship. I have played games with individuals though who I no longer associate with due to their behaviour at the tables or comments. But they were never really friends in my opinion. Some people say the wrong things when they can't handle losing.

I already knew and decide for yourself, it is not necessary to play with your friends! And I think this is the right decision!

Poker has ruined a couple of friendships for me, especially since poker stars left the states. We started off playing with a couple of buddies and then some of my closer friends started to join in, and since their level of play was a little sub par they started getting a frustrated when they started losing. Then they eventually started showing their anger and we stopped talking- this was one of my closest friends I'm talking about right here

Poker Should Not Ruin a Friendship

It is common knowledge that there are no friends on the felts. When one sits at the poker table, they are at war. And, every player at the table are the enemy.

If you become "Joe Nice Guy" On the felts, that is, you will lose.

LOL

I don't think it's advisable to play poker together with your friends and you're right it can ruin a friendship and you don't want that to happen. At first all of you might be enjoying the game but later on each of you will get frustrated I can attest to that.

All people are different, some take their defeat peacefully, others do not! If one rastroilas due to injuries, I am ready to retreat! Friendship is more important!

If the friendship is real, that poker can not be a hindrance. And we must be able to tolerate the slopes. If your friend is hard to tolerate the slopes, then the problem is not your luck in the game with him. Maybe it is something to change in your game.

For sure it can ruin a friendship, but I think most of the times only for a short period of time (if it is true friendship).

Off course it depends on the circumstances and what has happened precisely.

It' s difficult to say.

Yeah man at first very rapidly react to your loss! Time heals, and comes comprehension of the act!

Yup, again you are very right :)

That' s the problem most of the times. Time will heal, but sometimes they don' t have the time they need. This can be caused by so many things: patience, deadlines, ...

But why am I telling this, I guess it is known ;)

If poker can ruin a friendship and any other relationship, it wasn't a strong relationship at all.

all is fair in love and war... and poker... if you lose to him intentionally it could be considered collusion, which is against the rules! play your game and let him play his, if he cant learn how you play and learn to walk away when he is beat then he isnt going to make it far in this game. ppl get lucky al the time if he is going to get mad at you bcuz you are his friend then what does that say about him?
