ok guys--comments please!!

hi gang! look i also belong to an "womans only club" ok. played my first tourney with em last nite, an i was getting pretty lucky,,accumalated quite a few chips rite. so one gal is sitting there with 1080. an i have like 7 grand--she bids hi and i call,,because i have a ace and king of diamonds,,ok on flop 2 more diamonds come--she bids a little hi--so i called. well no more diamonds came but i caught an ace and won with aa, she says i cant believe you called that and fished till the end. ok do u guys call that fishing? the ace came on the river and by then she just checked,,so i checked. i mean my god i had ak diamonds and 2 flopped,i call that gambling for another diamond and she called it fishing, and just couldnt believe i stayed to the river with it.???????

so ok check it out--same girl---she made her way back up to over a grand--i get and ace 5 clubs---pre-flop she bids 500.(half her stack) i have over 8 grand--so i call her 500. flop was aa10--she goes all in--well at this point i have aaa--so i called her--she shows a pr of 8's and the turn was a 6 an the river was a ten--so i had a fullhouse--she states--i cant believe you called that when i have hi pair,,you need to work on your poker game dear!! omg--what the hell did she think,,,i have over 8 grand and she bids 500. pre-flop and i have a5 in my hand--of course i am going to call,,,and then aa10 flopped,,was i suppose to fold?? i swear--woman arent as aggressive as men--but dont tell me i am playing bad poker just because i won.shhheeeesh us woman!!<rolls eyes>

i've run accross many aggressive women in poker, i think there are more loose poker women than men.

Sounds like you have very good fundamentals for the game. You had no other choice than to play the way you did. I would have told her that she has no idea what she is talking about and that's why she was losing.

You should try to play with her as much as you can because it sounds like you could win a lot against her.

Of course you were right to play the way you did. If someone is that short stacked to your stack and you think you can take them out, you do it. Especially if you have a good feeling about your cards. Of course the flip side would be if you lost and doubled them up, but that's the nature of the game. To gamble.

thanks guys--i was hearing flack from some of the women in the club,,such as u were chasing,,she had hi pr,,,but whatever--i knew u guys would tell it like it is!!

Hopfully you will be playing her more often, with your large stack and her small stack I probally would have went for the kill, what would she have thought about that!

I think you did play it perfect. I question her play if she did have the top pair, why not bet you out of the hand. She only squawked because you outdrew her on the river, but she allowed that. Was she hoping to gain a few more chips by keeping you around? Some players (most actually) try for the big kill instead of trying for several smaller wins.

AA is a prime example of this. I see too many bad beat stories mainly because they slowplayed their way to death. I believe in eliminating as much competition from the hand as possible without jepordizing your stack unneccessarily.

She let you hang around and you capitalized on it! Good for you!

At the end of the day, each hand has a winner and a loser. If you want to improve your odds, get folks out of the pot. Every single time I slow play a good hand AA, KK, etc. I end up getting thumped on the river. If the other player didn't want you to see a river card, she should have tried to push you out of the pot. Always 2 sides to each hand: Who has the best pre-flop and who has the best after the river. Just because you're the best pre-flop sure doesn't mean you'll win the hand - unless everyone else folds...

Just a sore loser. You played the right game and got your rewards. Why she would bet 500 pre-flop, low stack with low pair is beyond me, its her that needs to ask herself a few questions

no,,i didnt win completely,,i came in 4th.. i just dont know what she was thinking even betting that much pre-flop with pocket 8's. and being on ak flush draw from the flop i wont gonna back down. i havent played her since,,but i am sure she will whine again if she loses!! thanks guys
