I just read an old article by Tenbob about cheating at home games. This was full of information and will make it my must read until memorized. I had no idea there were so many ways to cheat in poker! I have seen one cheat that was not in the article and that was pulling back betting chips after someone else has reraised.

There are tons and tons of ways to cheat in home games. Collusion, cold decking, 2nd dealing, bottom dealing, flashing, glimpsing, copping, using shiners, juice decks, stripper decks, sandwork, the list goes on and on and on. It really does pay to be well informed.

Just because a game is low stakes doesn't mean that it won't be hustled. Its a lot easier to hustle a loose game than to hustle one with a lot of fast company. Just something to think about.

That makes me wonder about some of the guys I used to play with quite a bit. There were a few guys that used to pull off miracle hands and consistently win week in and week out despite consistently making horrible plays, like the poor play odds never caught up with them. I never thought about it that much b/c it was supposed to be a "friendly" game, but I didn't know these particular guys all that well, so maybe they were honing their skills for bigger prey?

I should too, read more on cheating. I've always kind of overlooked researching it because I am a true and honest player. But, I do know when things aren't looking right.

I think having a tough persona and a gun in the house will deter most people from thinking about pulling such scams. I guess what I mean, is that preventive measures are always the best first approach.
