hello, i qualified for the pokerstars sunday million 17th anniversary.
it starts at 19:05 and the late registration is 24 hours open. it is a 3 day event.
does it make sense to register later and wait for the all-in idiots at the start, saving blind´s und look.
or should you play from the beginning.
whats your opinion ?

It depends on how good you play in deep stacks. I haven't seen the structure, but in big events, starting stacks can be 200BB. It's not making a lot of sense to play in such stacks, since majority of time it's just playing for banks which are very small, but it's easy to bust out overplaying your hand. So you can easily skip a few hours. I don't know about the whole first day though 🤔

Mind you, that weak players misplay their big stacks and try to win tournament right from the start, playing recklessly. Therefore it makes sense to play from the beginning, since you can build quite a big stack rather easily.

Again, it depends on your skills playing stack sizes. And your discipline too, knowing when to fold and with hands of what strength to play for the whole stack in each stage of the tournament.

Since playing MTTs is usually playing in average to small stakes, a lot of pros are comfortable and very skillful in playing 25-30-50BBs, and can wait this late to register. If you're not that comfortable in such stacks, I would recommend to register when it's 100BBs or less. But again, depends on you skills and preferences.

Good luck in the tournament! 🤞😉

If you qualified for it there is no question when to start really. Cause qualifiers are usually registered automatically to the tournament and can't unregister

You're right, just tried to log out, doesn't work. so the question is then also superfluous

if you have the time, start at the begining, you may be able to amass a ton of chips off the all in idiots!

You would guess but there are somehow.

Maybe not exactly jamming with 72o preflop but when I was playing the regular SM, I saw a player trying to bluff away someone on all 3 streets.

The bluffer had NOTHING and the caller had a full house.

What an easy bounty. ;)

And back to the question (even if irrelevant):
should you play from the beginning.
In a PKO, you usually want to start at the very beginning when all the fish are still in. :)

But as @iwont20 say, it all depends if you are familiar with playing very deep. I also need to learn some more here.

Don't waste/risk a huge portion of your stack with a mediocre hand would be my suggestion.

If you consider yourself a +-good player, then of course it is better to register at the very beginning. Since to argue that there are a lot of weak players at the start of the tournament and I'd rather wait until they fly out and I will play with + - adequate players - this is very bad. Your task is to make your stack bigger by taking chips from weak players, so that if you cut down with strong players and lose, no matter how, you will be able to feel normal at that stage of the tournament where you will be. Because trying to outplay exceptionally strong players is a really, really bad idea. There is a saying: "When you sit at the poker table and do not see weak players behind it, then the only weak player here is you")

if you win a ticket, you will not cancel registration and will not be able to log in at late registrations, but if you buy the entrance, you can log in later because the game will be very long and you can log in later which will give you more time to relax

These games I think it's good to play them from the beginning, to try and build a stack . Ofcourse it depends on your skills , some people feel uncomfortable playing with more than 100 blinds , some other players feel better by playing short stacked in shove fold mode and they get ITM (at least) easier ..
