I call hero when opponent is very aggressive and makes a low bet on the river.
or when I have a good read on the opponent and I know he bluffs with some frequency. in general the hero call is very profitable when the opponent is trying to steal the chips.

You are of course doing the right thing. But it always has to be done right. Don't call all raises headlong. You can lose so much of your stack so easily and it will crash you. You need to act against such players with the same methods as they do.

When I have a strong situation, or it seems to be a good evolution then I call a difficult hand. Or when the hero call is a desperate move and seems he did not have other choice.
