Would you play a Tournament without antes?

Title is straight forward.
Woudl you play, live or online, a tournament without antes? My local live tournaments don't offer antes at all unless its a special event tournament...

yes why not? i think antes make the game more fair because it benefits players who made the bigger stacks and shortstacks have to take some risk without speculating specially near the bubble where a player with less than 1 blind can wait for a full round without playing and this disfavour middle and bigger stack players who doesnt want to risk their chipstacks near the bubble when there are players who has way less stack than them.

if you play online poker on cafrino there is no antes it is a site with only freerolls and usa players can get paid in few days it is linked to your paypal account it is a nice site i hope it gets big only bad thing is there sitouts and fast timer

I prefer to have the antes in an online or an organized live game. I have played in some live charity events and hated the antes. Spent too much time finding out who anted cause no one knows how to keep their chips in front of them and not toss them all in the pot.

I play live tourneys without antes all the time. The blind structure usually allows for a 4-5 table tourney to finish in about 4-5 hours.

A lot of the local casinos out here don't have antes and tbh that's is fine with me because of the how long the blinds are. When you are playing a tournament that has 20-30 min blind antes make it a crap shoot very fast.

And ante could end the tournament an hour earlier. Save time which costs money.

You talking about live casinos? what about online rooms, especially when you have a lot of sitting out players ante is necessary not only about pot!

Playing poker without antes is my dream why would you want antes. :deal:

With ante game is a little faster without changing a blind structure! :icon_sant don't, remember where, but I play some tourney without ante, at FullFlush maybe, it was a horrible game! Some sittOuters was in money!

i used to play on betonline but couldnt take it anymore because they dont have antes in their tournaments. So no i personally would never play another tournament without antes again

I prefer a tournament structure that includes antes. It increases the speed of the game and forces players to make tougher decisions as their stack dwindles. Otherwise as someone else stated it will slow down the game to a crawl as the bubble approaches. I would rather the structure force passive players to make moves that they aren't comfortable making. A structure with antes rewards players who know how and when to play aggressively at the right times.

Deep into MTT's gets very tiresome on BOL, especially when players take the max time to make a decision.

I have a strong preference for antes now that I've played and won a few tournaments without.
