Entry buy with good placement and payout... no long re-entries?

Yes, most of what you said, but sometimes you find the ones with good pay out and placement tend to have a longish entry 45-1hr registration, especially on pokerstars.

It's not easy to find, but tournaments that are going to miss their guarantee are always super profitable. Example a $1,10 MTT with a $500 expects at least 500 players to register. If somehow only 350 show up, you are playing for 500$ prizepool but you have to get past less players, meaning the payouts are bigger for each ladder. Those are definitely very efficient.

following Dara O' Kearneys's advice:
  1. Smaller poker websites are more likely to have tournaments that will miss their overlay.
  2. If your idea is to look for low time investment, max late-registering is also a good idea, especially for tournaments with a non-turbo structure
