Normally I only play with small pairs when I am in the BB and receive a standard raise from the cut-off or dealer position from an agressive player or when playing 3-handed table. Otherwise in early positions in a table with 9 or 8 players I will fold my small pair.

If you know this guy likes to defend constantly its position, you should shove it right away and wait for the best. If villain doesn't do it often and you think he plays a tag style, then just leave it and move on to the next hand.

I like to limp in as its really tough to put someone on flopping a set. If everyone mucks and I am on the button I would likely 3 bet it.

I'd fold it without a heartbeat, even if a 3'd show up I could end up losing against a higher set maybe? Happened yesterday, lost with 8 8 in hands , A J 8 on flop, the guy had A A. Well, the luck factor.

Fold the best solution in this case. The rest of the options will be unprofitable in the long run.

If you do not play a set on the flop it is best to fold

I try to pair a little to see the flop, and further, if there is no aggression from competitors. If rates are high and continue to rise - I usually throw off a small pair

With all of the raising going on, just call. The worst that could happen at this point, is no help on the flop and then an easy fold to any bet.

You must steel from button with hands 22-88. Never doing 4-bets with this hands if only you exactly knows about bluff of opponent.

Avoid getting pot committed with small pairs and a healthy chip stack.
