DON'T JOIN A TOURNEY IF YOU'RE GOING TO SIT IT OUT THE WHOLE TOURNEY!
1. you're not going to make the money
2. you're making tables full of sit-outs which ruins the game if you're stuck on a table with only 2 or 3 live players.
3. you're thinning out the prize pool of which you're not going to collect from

Have respect for your fellow CC members. If you're not going to play, don't join!

Talks about respect yet decides to bump up some 12-year old thread :hmmmm2:
Also people like you motivate me even more to completely sit out certain cardchat games :)

E: And sitting out entire game doesn't stop you from reach ITM. This usually works well enough in 888poker,

LOL you have to adjust your game for that. They're at every freeroll on every major site.

To make this constructive, you should think about that situation so you can become a better player like: what are you going to do when you have an aggressive donk player that's with you at that sit out table trying to steal all those blinds?

Are you gong to play back with rags or have some discipline and wait? Then if you wait will the donk player see that you have a hand or will they try to run you over or play the hand passively giving up the hand and continuing to steal the blinds??

Those situations can be frustrating for folks but you can come away with some insights and that can develop your game as to figuring out what your opponent is trying to do and help develop some discipline in your game.

Instead of crying about stuff you don't like, (which I do a lot of by the way, lol, so you're not alone,) you might have been better off by starting a new thread asking for suggestions on how to deal with a table like that. I'm suppose to put a little light bulb emoji but too lazy to look for it, lol.

GL with the freerollers, lol.

Just saying, the game is not meant to be played that way. How boring the poker tourney scenes in movies would be if half the poker playing characters sat out

Hi

This happens to everyone mostly in free timed tournaments, yes sometimes I register before the tournament starts, and when it starts something has happened, or exceptional circumstances make me unable to play.

I'm sorry but I don't understand now an old thread has been brought back to life and people have to attack each other personally. So I don't understand, I'm sorry if I'm probably too stupid. But since this topic has been revived. I don't think most people sign up thinking I'll sign up and then sit it out. There are different reasons why one is sitting on out. Sometimes unexpected things come up and you can't play the one that's planned and sometimes people do it temporarily planned and I don't really understand why they do it but I have no problem with it. It has happened to me a few times lately, sometimes something came up and a few times it was because my internet was interrupted.

Freeroll games that have registration days before the tournaments happen frequently. Many people sign up and at the time of the game are left out.

there are many reasons for this, the Internet, etc. but there are people who are constantly doing this, dragging their time away from the table, for what I do not know, but it does not bother me much, I can wait 30 seconds every time

12-year-old thread, but still relevant. :D

Obviously someone can be "Sitting Out" for a long time with a lot of chips. The result of a long sit-down, on the other hand, will be that there are hardly any chips left.

I don't know why someone does that. It could be a connection problem, or the player doesn't have time to play anymore ... or he has diarrhea and went to the toilet.:toilet:

in tournaments it doesn't bother me because his blind goes straight to the pot and sometimes you can win it effortlessly, in cash games it's a problem because the big blind arrives faster and the dynamics of the game are uncomfortable.

The sit out feature is exploited by some to use as part of their tactic to instil the element of surprise, fear, and uncertainty to the opposing side. It is a tactic employed by the most shroud and ruthless of poker players. I for one, tremble and cower at the very site of these.. so call... Sit Outs.

These Sit Outs, they are like the lone tiger hidden amidst a field of grass... just sitting... and hawking...... in silence, at his prey. At any given moment he's ready to leap out ferociously with a roar so frightening that it shocks us little antlers into fear and pandemonium.... I... a little antler amongs them, cower at the site of these.... so call........ Sit Outs.

in freerolls they are very common where sometimes at a table of 9 only 4 or 5 play and it is easier to steal chips at those tables

Worst yet... and I tremble at the mere mention of these types..... a creature as equally terrifying..... A donkey in a lion's mane. "Heeee hawww, heeeee haawww", is all that is on his mind, as he Sits Out, waiting to come back in to strike at the next victim of runner runner Deuces, leaving behind a trail of broken dreams and tilting antlers

Hello Yes it is true that in some tournaments you find many absentees and that one wishes to have more action to build a good stack of chips, but not all players do it intentionally. It is frustrating to be playing a zoom tournament in which you are well positioned and you are left without an internet connection and when you return you are already out. There may be various reasons why they are absent and we have to adapt to the situation and try to take advantage of it.

Is the OP still alive ? Very old thread ... And a most stupid one to resurrect , if you ask me ..... Lol

Poker rooms allow it , in buy in games or freerolls , so .... No reason to argue about it

Sometimes you forget , or sth unplanned happens and you have to sit out for some moments or for the whole game .

Less players in a table to play against , and this is a problem ???

Personally I love when I play a freeroll on Bwin (for casino players ) and I see that 8 of the 9 players are sitting out , can you guess why ?? When it's 6/7 of 9 players out , still is good lol

I am not sure which is worse the players that register and don't play or the players that insist on limping to them.
