In poker in general, a lot depends on luck. But you always have a choice, and you decide for yourself which tournaments you should participate in. If you don't like some tournaments, just don't play themTbh i hate those games specially the free ones, depends on luck a lot and also the players are very sick, sometimes they call u with a pair of deuces and still win the pot.
It changes after the rebuy phase though. It's hard to win tournaments there, a lot of random things happen and a lot of people and everyone just plays for luck

I find that I used to think this way and it was because my game was so rigid i couldn't change how I was playing based upon the player makeup of the table. You need to recognize when it may be just one perosn playing loose or maybe the whole table and adjust to what is happening around you. Freeroll poker should be the easiest to win because people don't care so much and you can just play solid and win some big hands. Patience is key and building a table image goes a long way to getting people to believe you when you do bluff but it shouldnt be like you're constantly trying to get people off hands when you have nothing.Tbh i hate those games specially the free ones, depends on luck a lot and also the players are very sick, sometimes they call u with a pair of deuces and still win the pot.
This is basically a freeroll for you at this point. Play solid poker because you will be up against good players that know how to maneuver post flop and you will most likely have to build a table image of a tight player that doesnt bluff. Then when you find yourself getting low on BBs you will need to play that bluff card and people will believe you but you need to take a good line on the hand the whole time. Missing a flop on AK when you're against a player that might play AQ or AJ is a good place to check raise and see if they have the goods. If they call you it is a tough spot to keep going but be confident with what you feel they have and if you have been paying attention you will have the info you need to make good decisions.Yesterday in a freeroll I won a 2.20 ticket to play a satellite worth 22 ticket. I also won and today I played that 22 ticket for a satellite worth 215 ticket. I also won. This will be my biggest buy-in and I'm kind of nervous about playing. Does anyone have a tip for me to be calm with such a high buy-in?
