I haven't seen timed tournaments for a long time now which itself was surprising (maybe I just overlooked them?). But now I see there are a couple and all have "Test KO" in their names. Any ideas what these "Test" tournaments are? I mean, they are general tournaments, but is PS testing if there is enough participants on them? Maybe we will see more such timed tournaments in the future? Or I just see too much into it?

Might be something related to that, as I see way too less tournaments and SnGs now. E.g. there are no $0.25 or $0.50 SnGs and also there are no <$2.20 in the next 6 hours.. Very strange.

Yeah it's weird that there seems to be a distinction in what they post where.

From what I've seen in the past, PS likes to restart the server on Wednesdays around noon CET.
Will then be posted to StarsSupport on Twitter as Andyreas' screenshot shows.

Yes, as Andyreas already said, such KO tournaments and short regular turbos appear on the day of the site reboot and go until the start of this reboot. Today I took part in several of them and managed to win small prize money. The advantage of these tournaments is good bounties -0.5 buy-ins and short playing time. If you manage to collect a good stack, then you can count on nice prize money in addition to the bounty.

Congrats for the winning! That's bad that these appear only in such cases :( I like these timed tournaments though.

As others have said, these time tournaments are offered in the hours leading up to a server restart. The name "test KO" refer to the fact, they are now with bounties, whereas they were originally without. Its been like this for a while though, so there is not much "test" about it anymore. But I guess, they just have not bothered to change the name :)

It is likely that it was a server restart because I just checked PS and there were only 2800 people in the software.

it's rare so you can forget about these tournaments, they're so rare when servers restart goes to PokerStars so they don't have a future in these tournaments

That bring some memories cause once i used to play all 1,10 2,20 timed tournaments. Mostly i played the ones with 15mins if my memory serves right. It was fun making 15 bucks from 1,10 in 15 minutes or 30 from 2.

If I remember it correctly, time tournaments used to be part of the general tournament schedule on PokerStars. But now it seems like, they are only offered on the server restart days.

When PS do normaly the restarts
Around noon time CET on a wednesday.
and are the tournaments before or after?
Before. The reason is, they cant offer a regular MTT, which might last 6 hours, if there are only 5 hours to the restart. So these are taken down in the hours up to the restart, and instead they offer more turbos, hyperturbos and time tournaments. As the restart approached, the availability of SnGs is also reduced and eventually becomes zero. The whole point is to not have any tournaments running, when the server is restarted. Cash players get a warning like 5 minutes before, so they can end the hand and leave their table.
