I feel that it's a decent way to start to build a small bankroll. If you do $0.55 or $1 SNG then it can be profitable. It's always good to mix it up and do some MTT and cash games as well.

I think the Jackpot/Spin & Go's have taken a big chunk of the people who grinded the sit n gos.

My opinion

The guarantees on tournaments put an end to sit-n-go's. this is because the casino is playing more then taking in at times so the player doesn't feel like its getting ripped off. In a sit-n-go everyone loses ten percent off the top. It would prolly be better for sit-n-go's to have a yearly membership and don't take off on each tournament. Rather take off just for the yearly membership.

very much depends were you live.
lets say 1$ sngs * 5k games a month=5000 * 0.1roi = 500+something with rake bake or promos. is 500$ good for you or not?

I've sort of wondered this. I used to kill SNGs. But that was before UIGEA. Now...they seem a lot harder.

I've always been conservative in my play. And I intuitively "got" ICM and fold equity before I had ever heard of them. For exampleI didn't want to risk busting out when someone else made the first move and went all-in. I wanted to control that. That mind set made SNGs very profitable for me.

Nowadays. Meh. Seems fairly break even. Everyone knows about ICM now. I think most SNGs are played by break even regs (and some bots). Hate to be cynical, but either I've gotten a lot worse or the games have changed. Maybe some of both.

I miss the ole days when you could pretty much find as many sngs of whatever type you wanted running all the time. Now it seems like the variety of games is way down and it takes a lot longer to fill a game.

Definitely agree with most of the things said. Too many Regs, too flawlessly playing players etc. Unfortunately sngs are kind of dead but nevertheless new opportunities open in other areas.

Greets!
