This type of question pops up all the time, Is this worth it? or that worth it? What you should be asking yourself is "what do I want from Poker?"
If you want to make a living from Poker and you consider yourself to be good enough then stay away from Micro stakes and free-rolls concentrate on the high stakes and you will be like Lex Veldhuis and all the other streamers who do make a living from the game.
Personally I have a smaller task in mind, I want to increase my bankroll to $330.00 Why?
Before the lockdown I played rarely on-line as I was always playing at my local pub or in a Casino somewhere. I had built up a small bankroll on
pokerstars of about $198.00 and when I was forced to stop playing live games I returned to Pokerstars, and over a couple of weeks decided I may never get back into a Casino so concentrated in building up a bigger bankroll on Pokerstars.
My first target was $250.00 playing just free-rolls and 50 cent sit and go's, It took a while to get that extra $52.00 but I did it and was proud of my achievement. Then I thought it is time to up the ante and try and reach $300.00 so I started playing the $1.00 Knockout games, In just a couple of weeks I am up to $285.00 so everything is on track for me to make the $330.00 before Christmas.
Why $330.00 I hear you all ask? Well as I increase my bank-roll balance so I will increase my stakes and I feel that $330.00 is a good enough stack to start playing the $3.00 buy in games. Simple technique and if at any time I drop below my target figure, I will drop my stakes accordingly.
So baby steps for now but if I can make the $11.00 buy ins I will be happy.
