with the number of people that dont know how to pla i find luck has a lot to do with winning especially at the start where everyone goes all in with bad cards hoping for a flip.

Huck Seed once said that its all about being able to put yourself in a position to take advantage of "luck".

Of course you have to be able to identify those situations as well.

Maybe its about that and not putting yourself in a situation where you'll go broke if luck goes the other way.

After all, to win a tournament all you need to do is win the last hand you play.

Skill gets a player to the final table, but sometimes luck is needed to win. 80/20 Skill to luck is a good ratio. Mine happens to be 20/80 skill to bad luck with some really bad playing tossed in.

My strategy is to keep your head down in the foxhole and dont come out till you see the whites of their eyes, than blaze away. Just bluff enough to break even on them so you will get value when you hit a big hand.
