I wouldn't go all-in with any hand at the start of the tournament unless it was a super shallow structure or it was full whales who would call the all-in - but if so I would want a better hand than KQ

envy of the structure of the tournament, if hyper turbo and stacks up to 25 bb or rebuy tournament, then you can push from late positions in my opinion

Yes if there is KKK or QQQ or KQK on the flop. But only in these situations.
I think he meant preflop all in with KQ.

By the way I really hate this hand, my last tournaments ended with suited KQ. Once I lost against a 42, but it is not the villain's mistake, it is pokerstars, lol.

A few situations in which all-in makes sense:

You are sure that you have the best hand and know that your bet will be answered
You are sure that your opponent is missing one card from creating a winning hand (on the draw), and all-in will prevent his attempt to get the desired card
You have a few chips left and need to go all-in to stay in the game - and the odds show that it won't hurt.
this applies to any hand including KQ
