Luck is an integral part of poker because even to win with pocket AA you need safe flops) But skill is more important at a distance

Do you need luck to win? I dont think you need luck as much as thinks just running well. Skill is what defines the game but aces will love to say 72o 1 time in six. Is it luck when you win that hand? no its not but is it bad luck when you dont? Its not bad luck but your time its should lose.

So no I dont think you need to be lucky but variance really needs to not be working against you when playing to win.

The great and talented Phil Hellmuth already said it: "Poker is 100% skill and 50% luck." ... This phrase is so true that I use it in my signature.;)

without luck, you won't even get to the prizes. So luck is very important.

Possible is, but I believe that unlikely, since you usually go through some flips until it reaches the end.

Considering that you still need some amount of luck to win flips or hands that you're dominating, i think luck is an important factor in small sample sizes

However, with volume and consistency, it becomes a factor of little to no importance

It is impossible without luck. Luck is an integral part of the game. If you ask if a player can win a tournament with no skill or experience, I would say yes. If we talk about luck, then without it, nothing will happen.

Luck is beyond our control. No point in overthinking about luck.

Focus on developing your skills and ROI will improve.

No it's not. You MUST at least one time play hand "on luck" in tournament with hundreds of players.

Usually it is very hard to win a tournament without a bit of luck, because you have many showdowns or all ins against a lot of villains, so i don't think that there is no possibility of victory if you have cards like 2-7 or 5-10 several times during the tournament.

Skill is definitely the most important element. But I believe you also need luck. For me Poker is a Luck~Skill game. In my opinion, both elements need to be present for winning a tournament.

no, its impossible to win a tournament without luck. even if you make the best decisions it will always involve some luck because for example if you call a shove with aces and the other player have kings you make the right call but still you were lucky enough to have aces the same hand another player has kings, and that will happen in many other hands as well like ak vs aq or some flips like 10 10 vs ak, etc.

Moreover, you must be "chosen" to win the tournament! ;)

Ha ha, yes, it does feel that way sometimes. No wonder there are so many Poker superstitions out there; even the most rational ones of us sometimes go after their gut feelings rather than GTO.

Of course not.
I think it is impossible. Luck is essentially the main element of winning in poker.

Of course, not everyone will depend a bit on luck in the long run, since the game is very long and may be an equal game and someone will have a little more luck here, at least as much as they discuss, but without luck, nowhere
You can't get anywhere without luck

Luck is undoubtedly needed to win tourneys. The winning formula is getting your bad luck out of the way early on and hitting the magic one-outers on the final table :)
