Probably for a beginner it's better to play at one table, watch every action of the players. Of course everyone plays differently but for a few hands you can determine who is who. Someone often bluffs, who is waiting for the best hand, etc.
Everybody has his sweet spots, may it be 2 or 10 or even 30 tables.
And the format is important, for instance spingos are harder to multitable than 9max tables (mtts for instance) with slower action.
