I'll be honest with you, there are so many right ways to play this, but I do want to tell you this which is way more important*
You knew he had AA, you were getting a clear message from your intuition/reading skills, that is a GIFT! That is WHY you play poker.
You need to go with that read or you are playing AGAINST YOURSELF.
You should have called and looked for the set, if he gets cute and checks back to slow play, each card you get might be your magic queen, when he bets, you fold. You listen to YOUR read. That's why you are playing to grow that ability, so listen to it when it talks, or at least let it give you insight and weight to your actions.
