I agree, of course we should be aggressive, but I have differences in positioning myself when it's free and when it's buy-in, even more when it's been a few hours of tournaments...the wise man is patient I'm impulsive

That has happened to me many times, I think I lost count of how many times, sometimes it is very difficult not to lose concentration after several hours of play and multiple tournaments played in the day, at that point bad decisions abound a lot, although not I play a lot of MTTs, but when I play them I try to be 100% concentrated and with enough energy to face the tournament (s)

Happens a lot at the beginning. MTTs are like running a marathon. With time and practice, we can build the endurance to play for 5 - 7 hours.

Also in late stage, field gets narrow with good players remaining and EV implications becoming more significant. So ideally it's time to play our A game deep in the tournament.

No , I don't get tired whenever I play more than 2 hours but it will always be frustrating to me that I keep losing the critical flips in the last 2-3 tables in 1000+ player pool MTTs after 5+ hours of play :D

Good Luck , maybe you should try cash games if you still love the game but you don't want to make any time commitments. :)

If your problem is the two hours, if that tires you, the way is physical and mental preparation, who wants to play tournaments cannot be making a bad decision after 2 hours of tournament.

Another possibility is SNGs that last less than that.

I totally agree and lately i'm having the same problem. After 2-3 hours of play sometimes i'm overtired, sometimes i loose because of overconfidence on cards and sometimes from bad beats.
I have been thinking of not playing some weeks, until concentration is fully restored!

yes it happens to the best of us. One way not to get so tired is to have plenty of fruit and liquids around, on your break, shut your eyes and try to think of something other than poker, and lastly, you really do have to learn to be patient and pick your spots

Actually, the first 2 hours you need 10-15 strong hands to play. It's a slight warm-up before the carnage begins. For me, the tournaments start after the late registration ends when the places in the money are determined. So save power in the beginning and then switch to 100% mod.

Hello, I am one of the players who only plays Mtt, I always end up playing 2 hours and up to 2 and a half hours, but when I get to that playing time, I am exhausted and I end up voting all my chips no matter how big my stack is in a bad move making a bad decision and all the time played ends up being in vain.

Does it happen to you after arriving 2 and a half hours playing a tournament?

If that happens to you even if you have prepared yourself before the MTT, especially having had enough sleep among other things, then don't waste your time and money on something that does not suit you. I think you should use those 2 hours playing a couple of SNGs instead.

The most important thing in MTT is to maintain concentration, unfortunately it does not always work out and at the end of the session bad decisions begin and crash before time

It has happened to me too when I lose patience, or I'm just not caring much, but not often. Usually when it's really close to the money, I'll fold pretty much everything (even if I have a great stack) because this is the time I tend to lose to lower hands that outdraw me or run into aces when I'm holding kings.. I even hate to see aces at this point lol I'd rather make the money and then concentrate on growing my stack.
If you find yourself doing that all the time, maybe you could take a short break at that point. At least you'll make the money and it won't matter quite as much if you get impatient and go out with a silly play. You won't be so tempted by mediocre hands, etc. if you don't see them ;)

When you want to win a tournament, winning the tournament does not matter, but wanting to win it, every decision is difficult to make.

Bad decisions come when I get close to the final table and the blinds get to big

It doesn't just happen to you, it happens to me too. But when you play more than one tournament and at the end of them, fatigue and the change of strategy according to your chips can affect your decision making. Sometimes when you are doing better in a tournament it may be that another one is doing worse, you no longer have so much interest in it and you think of abandoning it and dedicating more energy to those that have more possibilities. There are many variables at stake that must be controlled so as not to waste the time and money invested due to fatigue, we must reflect on this and finish as best as possible and justify the investment.:)

If you can't sit for two hrs you shd be playing cash games instead.

I am studying for a multi-level exam that takes a few years to complete so I am usually multitasking. Helps both studying and tournaments not be so monotonous and boring.

In tourneys you need to be patient and pick your spots to gamble. Usually there will be a few key hands and situations in a tournament and how your decision goes will determine your fate. But you need to have more than just getting it in good. You need at least neutral luck.

Try to create notes for yourself about the mistakes, that you make! Write them out on a piece of paper and leave them in front of you, when you play. In very difficult situations for yourself, look at the sheet and try not to repeat the same moves. Also actively use the fold button, when you are not sure, especially in the final stage of the tournament. It's easy to make a stupid decision, but it's impossible to return to the tournament after relegation, but you can press the button and save the chances and opportunities for the game more, than once! :)

Play in the right state: no fatigue, alcohol and bad mood. Perseverance. I sat for these 10 hours and realized that I can do it. Not everyone can do this, because there are players who will sit for 3 hours and + ё- + begin to put themselves on incomprehensible cards. Perseverance in MTT, especially in such long tournaments, is very important.Take the move calmly. Imagine if you were moved to cash poker - you just bought it and continue playing. Imagine how in MTT: you played for 5-6 hours and having made the right decisions, you lost, you were run over. Now what? Smash your monitor? There is nothing you can do about moving. They were yesterday, are now and will be tomorrow. Therefore, it is important to learn to close your eyes to these transfers. Those. you have to work on discipline.

Yes, it happens to me often, but when I lose all my chips in a dumb way, I tilt and my energy quickly returns.

Maybe since you can't play for that amount of hours,

try playing sit&go's those don't last longer than 3 hours normaly
maybe give it a go and see how you do in the long term if it isn't for you

try to work on your game and do something maybe on the side?
music put something on the tv

think you like playing lots of hands when you have a decent size stack that's why you lose patient because you arent getting action at all.

Hope this helps

I came back to On-line Poker because of the Pandemic had closed my Weekly Pub Game, and all the casinos across the Country, I knew I had a little money with pokerstars and decided I would try and double it before Christmas 2020.
I smashed it and almost trebled it, but I was playing up to 10 hours a day, every day, mostly $1.00 SnGs, which could take around an hour to play each game, and of course the Cardschat free-rolls. I did what I thought I could do, but found it hard work, so this year I have slowed down again, to a point where I might play 1 or 2 SnGs a month and the occasional Free-roll.
Bad decisions are not limited to MTTs, you can make the same bad decisions in any game, it depends on your state of mind and how you are feeling physically as well as mentally, When I had a goal to try and achieve, I had motivation, that has now gone, because I have done what I wanted to do, I am not in any hurry to do something similar because I prefer to play for fun, and hard work is no fun at all.

When the fun Stops, STOP!
(or slow down)
