I'm thinking of registering for tomorrow's pokerstars anniversary tourney. Even though I definelty shouldn't as I don't have any experience with such big tournaments and can't afford any re-buys, I don't think I can stand by and not give it a shot considering I've been playing for four months now and it's the first one of this size I've seen.

Even though the buy-in would eat up all my poker budget I feel tempted by the large prizes as I tend to do well in MTTs.

If you played similar tournaments do you have any special tips for me? Or should I just play it like a regular MTT?

P.S. If I don't register is there any live stream of the event I can watch?

If you have never played such a tournament, you do not feel responsible for losing your bankroll.I think everyone tries to find themselves in poker if they are interested. I think that everyone learns from mistakes. If you now think that this is a mistake, then do not play this tournament. If you are full of optimism, then be bold-try yourself in the business and you will understand what you need to strive for.I would have played.Good luck to you!

A few suggestions:

** Play a solid tight-aggressive game

** Never play a tourney for the min-cash; the real money is in the top spots.

** Don't be intimidated. You're a good player and deserve to be in it if you put up your money and register!

Play your best game when you join!

but as you said it will eat all your bankroll up...

if it doesnt bother you that much i say go for it... but if it does i would say skip it and maybe try a sat to get a ticket! there will be more tournaments like this soon. this isnt your only chance

Not playing it got to work Monday and Tuesday during scheduled playing times and their responsible gambling team suck and restricted my deposit options too without me requesting it sure it is pointless registering if I can not play day two or three anyway good luck to all CardsChat members who play be aggressive and be lucky.:)
Bad idea to eat up all your budget though silversun87 in this game many more players will be disappointed and bust than will reach ITM.

If you are not afraid of the responsibility of losing $ 215 that you invest and you are not in a panic, feel free to take part in the game, and then the card will fall for you. I think the best option is to play a tight game that will help you avoid ridiculous mistakes and not lose your steak.:)

It's not tragic for me to lose $215, it won't affect my lifestyle in any significant way (other than probably feeling stupid for a few days). It will just mean I will have to wait a week or so for my next pay check before I can invest in poker again.

The highest buy in I ever played was around $20 so it's more of a mental barrier as I would start viewing myself as somewhat of a gambler instead of somebody who is playing smart and increases stakes gradually with bankroll/experience. But I would also look at it as a learning experience to play with the top players which I assume will join and am very curious how I would perform against them. And of course, there's the pipedream of winning a life changing amount of money. Anyway, I will decide tomorrow if I feel in the zone or not.

The broadcast of the final table will be on the pokerstars channel on YouTube, and as for the recommendations, if you are playing such a tournament for the first time, read or watch how the deep stack is played, the strategy is almost the same, but with deep stacks, the same stages of the tournament, the tournament will probably go for 2 days, that is, the first day will be the main meat grinder, and the second part will already be a game of winners. Previously, we held the anniversary Sunday storm, I had to participate, honestly, when 4-5 lags are sitting at the table, the game is quite loose. With a buy-in of 215 in a normal tournament, the skill is very important, so I would not risk it, but this is your personal business, if you really want to, you can play in a mega satellite with a small field of players - it will be cheaper.

This is a gorgeous tournament, in it, unfortunately, I played only 1 time and won nothing, and not everyone can play it, the amount for entry is decent, for poor poker players it is not lifting, only rich players can play in it, but win the ticket for it is very difficult.
