Advice on playing tourneys

I see some people checking the nuts on the river why bet at least 3/4 of the pot. Never slow play monster hands unless your goal is a min cash. The way to pull of a bluff on the river is to act fast and make a pot sized bet.

normally when i slow play hands and i am ahead on the flop, the turn or river give my oponent a better hand and i end up loosing. most of the time i will bet big on the flop and close down the pot. very rarely do i play out the whole board with a monster hand unless its obvious tht i jave over 80% chance to win. then ill slow play the hand and maximize the pot. thanks for the advice. appreciate all the help.
