I think I could fold here, you don't have much invested compared to the blinds and it's early.

Hello.
In my opinion, everything is fair.
From the beginning, your opponent had the best hand. And you played with cards that were better to fold. If you want to win, you have to be patient and wait for strong cards.

Thanks for posting the hand Alexblefer. It's an interesting one.

The hand has all the hallmarks of the freeroll-microstakes game play: 5 players in a family pot; everyone limping or checking; first to act seemingly taking a random 1/2 pot bet at the pot; and the best hand limping and minimum betting on the turn. What's not to like?

In a way it's unfortunate that you were in the BB with such a marginal hand opp and with no additional cost to you to stay in the pot. If we calculate the gross equity of each player (assuming 2 players had 30% ranges and two player had 20% ranges), your equity preflop was ~15%. On the flop, it was still only ~26%. If folded on the flop, you would have dodged the bullet.

The way the button with JJ played the hand, it was nearly impossible to put the villain on a narrow range, and the way they bet the turn when checked to them further disguised their hand. (I did find their min bet into such an inflated pot a bit suspicious though.) The Jc turn was the killer. If you could've have gotten away on the flop, you would have been pretty happy. However, the turn was increasing your equity against a 20% & 30% range.

Overall, I wouldn't get too upset by this hand. It's just poker. We all need to review our flop strategies, and this hand provides a good opportunity to do so. Good luck on the felt.

Yeah you should of got away from this on the flop. You have bottom pair and a runner, runner flush draw. Your facing a half pot raise with 3 to act behind you. This is an easy fold.

In the range of your opponent trips, a flush draw or a good pair to the river, he expects that closes potential flash you. River trips on the range which improved to a full house, overpriced AA are not unable to reset or flush with K is very difficult to lose with flash A. You played well, but you're out of luck. You are more likely to win, because a full house comes rarely.

I must say the set is a pretty strong hand but not the strongest in poker. You neglected this circumstance and the presence of two peaks on the board, you decided to collect. Putting just a pot of sweat, you seem to demonstrate weakness regarding the cards on the flop and as a result received two callers, which is exactly what you wanted. After the thorn, the villain no longer had a choice, as he invested too much in the pot. Be careful in the future. Good luck!:vollkomme

Yep, classic microstakes on pokerstars... the guy just limps with JJ from the BU, such a regular play and it so makes sense that he has exactly JJ there... I swear, I got pissed just by looking at this. I figured he would show 33,44 or some dumb J8 or 84 hand.
And I don't know what is worse, Villain showing JJ after that limp, or that I expected Villain to have such sh*tty hands like 84o and J8o :D

You can definitely fold here unless you have reason to think he'd be going crazy with a smaller flush.

It is a easy fold on flop. You have a pair with lower card on table, you dont have position and play against four players, after you 2 fold but you did not know this was going to happen.

If you pay flop, you cant fold turn, pot has 525 chips and you need put 30 chips to see another card. If show another club card you have nuts, but when double 8 you could raise but if villain came back all in, you should fold.

This was not a bad beat, you were back all the time.

Considering only you and him, you had this percentage of winning the hand.:

Pré flop: 30%
Flop: 26%
Turn: 18%
