Why you pushed allin w/A-7 is beyond me! A-7 is a nothing hand(unless it was suited-you didn't say) 6.25 had the better hand, really, 'cuz at least he's GOT the straight draw--alls YOU got is a prayer for As and/or 7s to be flopped! I prolly woulda folded from the git-go--I HAVE, as a matter of fact, folded A-7 AND A-6 MANY times---BUT, what happened here is just POKER!

Who are the two jokers above me then?

A7 isn't a nothing hand heads-up at all. Any ace is a very strong hand with only two players left.

I'd just accept that you got your chips in good. That's all you can do at the end of the day. The outdraw is just a part of the game. Unlucky.

Gotta agree that any A is a big hand HU. You did get your money in with the best hand, just bad luck IMO.

I disagree, raising with an A7 here is unwise.

Why not call and see the flop ?

Or am I missing something obvious ???

I'm not calling with this one, and a fold is out of the question - it's too good a hand heads up - love the raise, you definitely got your chips in good, it's another bad beat.

On the other hand, what do you think of a re-raise to 64K rather than all in? With that flop, you'll likely force him out (fold equity, you hit a pair, and he's got air at that point). On the negative side, with a different flop, you may get forced out by a strong bet and end up crippled in HU play...

I really am curious what you think about the smaller re-raise - I've been questioning this in my game, whether to go all-in like gopnik (which is what I do now) or if I should be trying to get to post-flop play cheaper, especially with roughly equal stack sizes...

Yes you are missing something.
HU is all about aggression and what more could you be aggressive with than an ace in the hand:)

OP played this right imo. A 7 is pretty good usually in that spot (which it was here) and despite the blinds you still have some fold equity. A profitable play, keep doing it.
