I was in a live £40 tourney on fri. The starting stacks were 6000.

Second hand in i looked down to see AA. The guy next to me raised the pot to 300. (blinds 25, 50) it was folded around to the guy sitting to the right of me, he re-raised to 900.

I re-reraised again to 2000.

The guy to my left insta called all in. (my smug grin got bigger)

The guy to my right thought for a while and called. ( grin turning to nerves)

I called praying my aces would stand up.

They both turned over QQ.

5 cards later i scooped a rather large 18000 pot.

just thought i'd share that.

Any way, the table is five handed with 11 player left in. Im a short stack with just over

me:15000
button: 35000 (Very good tricky player known to bluff)
sb: 18000 (weak passive player, calling station unless they hit)
bb: 15000 (very passive)
utg: 9000

blinds 3200-1600 = 4800 pot (20 min blinds) top 5 get paid.
I get A 3 suited

UTG folds

call, raise, shove, fold ?

Calling is out since it will pretty much cripple you and the blind is coming around. Good chance the aggressive player on the button would notice your situation and raise with anything reasonable.

Assuming only the top 5 or so are paid I'd probably push here and hope it gets folded around or to get one loose call. Short handed there's a good chance you have the best hand and you may not get another shot.

Folding is acceptable if the chances are good one more player is going out soon and the tables will get combined.

Moving this to Tourney HA.

Pushing and folding are both acceptable options here, calling is bad.

Also, try not to grin when you have aces live.

I'm for pushing here but I wouldn't with an A2 suited. Only a really big hand will call

you say both the blinds are passive... and button has no money invested so he wont get in unless he has something real good. Shove here.. I'd be waiting for the time that the 2 passive players are in the blinds and pretty much push with any 2 when your this shortstacked. The A is a bonus.

5bbs 5 handed and not close to the money I'd almost shove the next five hands blind...but definitely shoving this one.

edit: I guess the tables will merge soon so might only need to steal a couple of times and wait for a hand on the full table. This is one of them with so much in the middle, passives in the blinds, and the blinds about to come around and cripple us.
