I can't help but think early stage AK play is a bit of a leak of mine, so here are some of my more interesting early AK hands for picking apart. Seeing as it's early assume villains are all unknown. FWIW I only like how I played one of these hands in hindsight.

Hand 1, w/ ST8, Flush & A-rag possibilities I'm done with this hand after the flop.

Hand 2, no problems here

Hand 3, no problems here

Hand 4, check behind on the flop and bet the turn

Hand 1: I check back the flop since it nails a limp/caller's range. Fold to the river shove obviously. I think this hand is the butchered one of the group.

Hand 2: These min 3-bets are so dumb. Play cash games so you can shove over them. I guess this hand is okay, I'm just not crazy about calling large bets from idiots.

Hand 3: Goot.

Hand 4: I'm very meh on betting the turn. I think this is fine, but the river is a shade ugly.

1 - just fold to river shove, rest is thumbs up

2 - 2nd hand seems fine

3 - also goot

4 - I like checking turn since all made hands that called flop (pp's, 9's) fold to a bet on the ace, so our bet is only going to be called by hearts/8's, so i like the check. River is meh, we beat j,t and 6,7, not enough hands that we beat to call that river bet so i fold coz im a nit

HAND #1
I'm good with all the streets up to the river. On the river I might have done the same thing but I would have known it was very questionable. His all in raise bet does look very fishy. But it almost looks fishy enough to be real.HAND #2
I like the pf raise/call. Too early to 4 bet (even with the goofy min raise) Probably would have called the little flop bet... would have c/bombed the turn....(try to take away the flsh draw)HAND #3
Call the all in for sure. no question at this level. Yes he might have had a straight or a set - but you see this alla time with two lower pair or one pair and draw. (And I like doubling up early or getting on with the next tourney).
Hand 4
Dont get the check behind on the turn. not with the flush draw. (But looks like a good result)

Are we really buying the river c/r in hand 1 given that the turn went check-check?

I know it's a $6 and people's plays don't have to make sense but the river c/r here seems frankly bizarre to me. What do we think he's doing this with?

Does nobody 3bet pre in hand 2? I don't mind my calldown but calling the minreraise seems possibly weak. That said if we 3bet and get called we're going to be in a horrible position OOP on most flops.

Same with hand 3 - I don't really think BB's call is good whatever he has, but it's unlikely he has a monster. Can we 3bet or even shove pre here? I think the flop is pretty standard given that we have outs even in a bad scenario and donks will stack off with all sorts of silly draws on flops like this.

I like the turn check in hand 4 and am still undecided on the river tbh.
