I was big blind ($3,000) and somebody towards button raised me to $6,000. I had 10-7 hearts. Flop comes up 7, 8, 9. I go all in with my remaining $14,000.

He called with A J

Turn 6

River 4

My sister sitting at the table said I should have folded and not called the raise of the additional $3,000. Should I have just folded. 18 players left, six places for cash.

I would have folded. You're in bad position, plus you hand a weak had to begin with. Also, why did you go all in on the flop. There were plenty of hands that could have had you beat there. Doesn't make sense to me, but I dont know what suit the cards on the flop were, so that could have changed things. Either way, you should have folded pre-flop.

so you put in t3,000 in for the BB, then called a t3,000 raise, which left you with a stack of t14,000, with T7s?

Putting in ~33% of your stack with T7s out of position and without the initiative is never a profitable play. Easiest laydown ever.

As played, I like the flop shove.
