Please give me your comments I was the leader at one pt before this w 6400 in chips should have finished in the money , this was a key hand which I think I got outplayed on flop this was near the bubble Payout 50,30,20 3 spots could he have a set? the BB or was he a busted hand like AQ AJ ???? that never hit , I barely missed my st,I prb should have raised him allin on turn instead of 800 bet Steve

He flopped straight maybe...? If u miniraise to 300 preflop, he will NEVER fold a 7-8

Unless you have a solid read that the BB would do this with a draw (JQ) or any T then you have to fold. Don't min-raise, make it 600-800.

This is what confused us. So since you did a 3x raise you can remove the min-raise advice that we gave.

Blinds 100-200... SB+BB+your 300 raise makes it 100+200+500. Then how can the pot size be 900 after BB calls your 300 raise? Unless you raised TO 300 it makes no sense. And if you raised to 300, then your minimum raise just invites BB to call w any2. As you found out. It such a lame preflop raise, that any player with the least bit of sense would call it to get 8:1 on his money, Only reason for these weak raises would be if you WANT a caller. The way BB played is the way I would have with just about any 2 cards on a flop like that, taking into consideration you very weak preflop raise

EDIT: Just saw you created a new thread, with changed blinds. Why not edit your original post instead?
Either way, there is still something strange with the blinds/pot size. How can 50+100+400+300 add up to 900?? Are you sure this hand has really happened? And it must have been a very quick elimination in the game, since 4 players are remaining at blind 50-100?

I think you said blinds were 100-200, but regardless look at the size of the raise in relation to the size of the stacks. He is probably figuring with the right flop he can turn his 300 chip investment into a stack of about 7000 chips and a great shot at winning the tourney.

He could have easily had an 8, or just known that the board was way to scary for a tight player to call. If I had gathered as little information about the player as it looks like you did, I probably would have even folded aces in your shoes.
