What should I do here? I couldn't use my HUD so I don't have any numbers on villain, but he was calling/reraising a lot of raises. Pre-flop he would push with a good hand against a raise.:confused::confused:

Ugly spot here, which is why you don't want to play AJ in raised pots too often.

Reads would help, too. On occasion I've cold-called a raise in this position vs. an overly aggressive player with a hand like QQ and could also show up here with JJ/TT

Well, looks like they open raised, so why wouldn't they like their hand here, flopped tptk.

I may have preflop raised just a little more, but, ok.

They lead out and get min-raised? What is really scary about that board? Set, fldr, 2pr, better J(don't think so)???

Is this a YMTC post?

Reraise here, else don't make the flop bet. I think you are good here. When they show you setT, urgah!

The only thing that really made me stop and think was the possibility of the set. But without a preflop reraise here I really don't think he has any PP (high or low).

IMO it is pretty likely that your opponent is testing whether you are c-betting AK or AQ. Problem for you is that the pot is getting very big and you only have a pair of jacks. If he has any KQ he has 14 outs and if he has KQs he has 21. To me its a decision of all or nothing. If you are conservative, fold. If you don't mind putting your money in a coin flip or worse, then push.

Based on your read I think you are ahead most of the time. Shove and hope it works out.

Top 72 pay out and we are around 100 left in the tourney. I can't really give out much more than that without giving it away.

Well, here's the rest of the hand. It looks like there's a 50/50 split on what I should do here. I had no clue, so I went with my gut. Immediately after this hand I punished my gut with a bologna sandwich.

Seems like I'm not paying enough attention to stack sizes, doh! You can only fold or shove here. Reraise would be the shove part. YMTC, I'm with your shove. If you knew they only had a OESD, shove every time.

You made the right play and donkey thought their 8outer was good enough to stack off(or dbl you up) on just luck. They don't even have a backdoor fl draw! Dumb play on their part.

AJ is trash but if you raise with it here and hit it in the teeth, what are you gona do fold it? the problem is if I were in his shoes there are not many hans that he can call the preflop raise with that you can beat now. Only a total idiot calls the preflop raise with Kj or QJ. 10 10 or 99 maybe. this mess is avoidable by not raising with AJ.

Does no-one use a hand converter on this forum? weaktight.com will convert most HH's.

I think with the board this draw-heavey against this villain you have to get it in here. The only hand I'd expect to be behind is JT but that's v.unlikely. If the board showed :js4::6h4::2d4: I'd be more worried.

get it in ftw

Based on your reads, I think I gotta shove this all in every time. Quite often in spots like this I've found villain to be on QJ or KJ, and at worst a split pot. I'm not expecting him to be on 2 pair in this situation, so more than likely I think youre good for a shove

Edit: ugh, sickness

There's so many different hands he could have here. If it was me, I'm raising with obviously J10. I'm also raising JQs, JKs, or QKs. If I have a set, I'm raising with so many draws out there. He might even be raising with AQ of spades. I don't put him on AK or any over pair because an aggressive player would have repopped it preflop, but I guess it's up to your instincts.

He could even have a mid pair and he wants to get you to fold if he thinks you might have a hand like AK. That is less likely, but it's hard to say. If it was me in your spot, I would probably just fold it and wait for a better spot when you are more sure you have him. If he is overly aggressive and does a lot of reraising, he should be easy to trap in a better spot.

Even if he does just have a big draw, I wouldn't want to flip a coin with a player that you know you can get your chips in against a much bigger favorite.

I was really not married to this hand. But with some of the hands the villain showed prior to this I just couldn't walk away. I had seen him reraise the flop just to fold to a bet against him on the turn. I didnt' give out that info before because I was afraid that would skew the results a bit. However, it seems it's still a 50/50 draw on what to do here and I still think I did the right thing and just got unlucky with the river card.
