This is more of a play style analysis rather than a hand analysis.

At the second break of a pokerstars Freeroll that started with 10,000.

Stack: largest 118,100, smallest 95, average 23,885
Your current position is 253 out of 634
Current Stack: $ 22,821

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 129 hands and saw flop:
- 9 out of 15 times while in big blind (60%)
- 9 out of 14 times while in small blind (64%)
- 21 out of 100 times in other positions (21%)
- a total of 39 out of 129 (30%)
Pots won at showdown - 10 of 14 (71%)
Pots won without showdown - 7

Overall, I am pleased with my play, the 7 pots I won without a showdown I may want to bet a bit differently to get some more out of the hand. I also may want to trash some of my hands a bit earlier.

What do you think?

At this point you are in fine shape. Under the bell curve for average. Not showing anything here that looks bad. The 21% choice to see flop stat is in a good range.

Don't worry about those 7 hands you won without a showdown. Any time you invite someone into a pot, you also invite the possiblity of getting outdrawn. Take them down without a showdown whenever you can.

Things pick up after any 2nd break. What happened by the 3rd break?

Well the fun is over, I finished in 159th.

I got called all in with KK, he had AQ, Flop 6 J A Turn: 10 River: i don't remember i just sighed.

Final Stats:

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 199 hands and saw flop:
- 16 out of 24 times while in big blind (66%)
- 14 out of 22 times while in small blind (63%)
- 26 out of 153 times in other positions (16%)
- a total of 56 out of 199 (28%)
Pots won at showdown - 14 of 19 (73%)
Pots won without showdown - 11

Overall not bad, I have played poker here and there for a while but nothing consistent or nearly this large. I am happy, I think I played consistently to the end.

Any tips would be great. Thanks in advance.

Final stats suggest you are a defender. Defending your blinds, probably calling when you should be folding there. Unless those were very passive tables.

26/153 (16%) times you choose to see the flop. Low end of the range I think.

Perhaps just a wee bit too tight.

I thought the figures looked fairly good, 84% not seeing flop perhaps time to loosen up a little at that stage, but then it all depends on the cards, players, etc.

This includes of course all the crazy all-ins early on which usually is best to avoid, so overall nice figures :)

Out of 10,000 finishing 159th good going - did you make the money or just miss out?

One of the problems with the blind stats: they don't reflect VPIP (voluntary $ put into pot). So, just because you are above 60% for these, maybe there weren't many raised pots. This is where something like PokerTracker comes in handy.

I had had this problem (running deep into the freeroll but not qualifying) but think the key is to be tight but very aggressive with your bigger hands and laying down marginal hands early. You have to get lucky once or twice in a big tournament like this as well. I mean, 27/10000 is the top 0.27% of participants. You can't JUST play excellent poker to make the cut.

It was one of the free roll satellites that the top 27 move on. But the experience gave some confidence to play some more freerolls. I am not ready to move into online tourneys for money yet. Graduating College in a few weeks so I should save a bit. Do you have any suggestions for a Poker tracker?

I use Poker Tracker with the PokerAce HUD... they should pay me for how much I talk about it on here (they don't). I have also heard very good things about Poker Office, but haven't tried it. You can get a free trial (1000 hands) of Poker Tracker from their website.

I play these tourneys all the time. And to me it seems like "real" poker starts after the second or third break. I mean after the first break there are about 4k people left. 60 percent are out by the first break. that goes to show the seriousness of the people playing this thing. but 159th is not bad
