initially i was thinking a bet on the river would have been right, but i don't think he would be raising or calling if you did it. by checking i think you were able to induce a bluff from him...
The check on the turn and especially the check on the river are absolutely criminal. In fact it'd be really difficult to play this hand any worse on any street.
