20 BB is to deep to open shove except in special situations like a SnG bubble. The best play here is to min-raise and then fold to a 3-bet or, if he just flat, try to get to showdown as cheaply as possible on a board with two overcards. You still lose the hand, but you dont need to lose all your chips. Normally I would open 77+ from UTG, but given that its near the bubble, and 3 players have kind of perfect rejamming stacks, open folding 88 would also be an acceptable play although a bit tight. Probably something I would be more likely to do, if I was shot taking via a satellite than in a freeroll.

Depends a lot on the total participants.

If it was a CC freerolls for platinum/silver, then 20 places is quite a lot and it will take quite some time before bubble bursts.

Usually our aim isn't to min-cash but to get to FT/top 3, so you need to take some risks to get there but not with open jamming here, as fundiver explained perfectly already. 🙂
