This is a $16 shootout to a $650 ticket, payouts are as follows:

1st: $650 ticket
2nd to 6th: $72
7th: $10

Villain has been very aggressive throughout our shorthanded table's play (36/26/3.6), and I've been very tight for a s/h game, but have loosened up and made a few pushes and steals with my short stack. HU, I've been pushing any chance possible, and he's raised my BB almost every time (though we're only ~5 hands in).

in this situation if I havent been getting cards I just go for it here and hope im not dominated. If I feel I can get a better hand in the next couple of hands then wait. I think I would fold and pray the poker gods love me and give me at least an ace, pp, or suited connectors in the next few hands.

Absolutely. Villain has a little over 6 to 1 chip advantage, your M is a little over 4. With the read on the villain, he will keep pushing us all in every time. We can sit and wait for a better hand, but HU I think I call and try to get back in it with a double up.

I hate calling with up/downs (high card, low card), but in this situation I think I'm getting my chips in the middle here. Villain is raising with pretty much any two cards, and unless he happened on a monster I like any two live cards.

Now, this is based on the fact that villain seems to have his chit together and will pressure us every hand HU since he has the overwhelming chip lead. If it's some donk that will fold his SB and not put constant pressure, I think I wait... but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Easy push

he's raised my BB almost every time (though we're only ~5 hands in).
I would certainly hope so. He has you so outchipped.

I'm not very good at HU. To evaluate this I'm going with the info you provide and Mr Harrington's hand rankings in HU play (vol. 2).

K5o is in the top 40% of all hands, and against any random hand its 52% or better to win. Considering that, mostly because of his chip lead, he has raised your BB every time, I think its ok to say that the ATC criteria is met, although this may be a little too approximate (since its only 5 hands in). All this, combined with your low M, justifies a call here.

I sissied out and folded with the thinking that I would prefer to push his BBs rather than call off my stack. I think I agree with you guys, though. I caved under his pressure :/
