Criticism is more than encouraged, let me know what was wrong/right about my play here. I feel like i could have extracted more, but was a little timid after that flop.

I would have raised more pf. just something I read, but I forget by whom that sometimes it is good to add a bb to your raise per limp preflop. I've been trying it, and it seems to be a good thing. AK is one of those hands that when folds the rest of the table from the raise, you could be happy.

Also, I would have bet the pot on the flop. It's a drawing flop, and a loose player with a pp may call there. If the pp were the case you'd lose him betting the next street anyway, but betting the flop with a pot sized bet would have gotten a call. Maybe he'd have put you on a pp from the raise there and reraised.

and I would have bet the turn. I'd expect AJ or AQ to have raised preflop from the sb, and also at the flop to prevent outdrawing so I'm not TOO worried about 2 pr. If I get a call there, then check call the river

I just figure myself lucky to hit a flop with that hand. It hasn't happened often lately but in spells hits alot.

I like controlling pot here, easily run into 2 pr that flop. Checking turn gave A9 idea he might be good, guess thats defensive bet on end. I'll be interested to see what others say, I can see myself playing it the same way.

So far I've written 3 replys, and I don't like any of them.

Scary flops. bah humbug.

You did what you had to do and ended up with the pot. In this case I can't see much else you could sanely do. Since they both called the flop bet, you have to be thinking they both, like you, have that str8 draw. Difference is you have a hand at the flop, that will beat most everything except the made str8 most of the time.

I think with this hand you have to bet the turn after 2 checks. If beerfan had shoved, would you have called? Tough decision, was he slowplaying you the whole way?

Put me in the camp that bets the turn big and takes the pot then.

i actually don't mind the turn check as both did call your flop bet

but i do prefer the turn bet with 2 checks and you in position, it just seems better to thin the field and maybe make your river decision easier

i especially like the fact that you didn't raise the river

only thing i have to add is raise more pre-flop

I guess 2 pair would play back at you with straight draw out and you need to be more worried about being drawn out on...turn bet puts you 40% in...
