This hand is to funny, again why call a pre flop raise when you don't make one?

As you can see, I bailed while I was ahead.. but again to reiterate the same question.. if you won't raise pre-flop with a hand why call a raise?
Not saying the JJ's shouldn't have cause I acted 1st.. but c'mon the others and then to call the continuation bet?

Just baffles me why people won't raise with a hand but will call with that same exact hand...

Good question Twizzy. Seems I find more and more "call and catch" players. Doc's call I agree was fine, you raised early so probably had good pockets ( I might've back raised depending on the table play up to then). I just hope that players like Vicky and the other callers are on my table when I'm betting.

I call them passive aggressive. They don't really want be the one raising but once they are committed to a hand (which sometimes is just a limp in), they will aggressively hold on to it, call anything.

The biggest problem I have been having lately is I expect everyone to play textbook poker. Unfortunately, most of the people I play with lately must be illiterate. The strange plays are baffling me as well. Not good enough to raise with but good enough to call when someone else show strength is just one example.

Well it wasn't so much textbook.. but everyone called on the continuation bet.. you mean to say those that called had higher pockets then 9's.. was holding A7, K7, Q7, cause just those 3, most no-one would call a pre-flop raise with. Now possibly 10,9..Yet A8,K8,Q8 to call a pre flop raise?

Then the other pair on the board.. 6 with either A,K or Q.. they could be possibly hoping to grab trips or 2 pair?

If they are calling pre-flop hands with those sort of hands, that is only asking for trouble.(not saying they shouldn't cause that is what we want). However since we are a forum, I figure we should be helping those who wish to get better cause I sure want to, get better that is.
