I personally think you should check-raise the flop to get your chips in while you're ahead and protect against draws. I would have been worried about flush draws, but the straight draw is also there (obviously).

On the turn you check-call all in when you are behind, then you get bailed out by the river. It was a nice result for you, but as played the Button/big stack played it better and he got unlucky (except for his questionable play of calling a raise with 96....but he had the stack and the button....)

I completely agree with missjacki that you should raise the flop. Given how loose the preflop calls were, I have a hard time believing that any player at the table was laying down any draw, no matter how weak --- so you want to penalize them for drawing.

Also, one technical distinction: you flopped trips, not a set. A set is when you make three of a kind with a pair in your hand (hole cards), while trips is when you make three-of-a-kind with a paired board.
