After 4 hours we are down to around 30-35 players from around 18000 runners.. This hand comes up.

For the context both me and the villain weren't too out of line and playing decent hands. not Nitty or loose. $200 for the winner was paying around $2-3 for 30-35 places

Appreciate your view on this play.

Check in turn would be a mistake because board very coordinated , the size of the pot is already the same as your stack and you OOP.... Only shove in turn , there are a lot of cards that can call ( top pair with draw or two pair with flush+straight draw).

If you lose , it's cooler...

For sure I would shove on turn.
No need to give villain free card.

There are many weaker hands that could call. And even against straight you have such good equity (23%), that it would be mistake to fold with such pot.

I think both of you have made standard play. Both of you had a little less than 30BB. On a wet flop you made a good 2/3 pot size bet to protect your hand. Your opponent couldn't go anywhere with his open ended straight draw plus over cards draw. The turn card was a set up. You had a set of Ace and shoving was good because it is was a wet board on the turn.
Just bad luck. :\

Your sizing pre flop and on each and every street needs a lot of work. You're betting way to big overall given effective stack size is only 25bb.

As for turn, never folding in a freeroll or anything for that matter, there are just so many two pair/sets/draws to ever warrant a fold. If he shows up with KQ then so be it, we still have outs.

I am not sayd about sizing , because it is freeroll , in preflop always many callers + blinds like call.. Preflop raise 3bb its not mistake , in normal game all fold on this raise :) but in freeroll raise 2bb very bad , how i am sayd many people like calls... Yes, in flop i am right with you , very big bet , 50% of the pot enough....

This hand is played to showdown . I would have gone all in on the flop to draw block

Four hours is too long, especially since the prizes in this tournament miserable.
I participated in this freeroll many times.

Hand was unlucky, i see the big preflop 3x raise as a little mistake, you want to invite players into the pot with AA, and don´t want them folding. GG
