I'm hopping that I'm posting this right, but here is some little information. This was a tournament free roll with only 24 people registered. I am short stacked against this player. I will post two hand history of this particular player, which was only 3-4 hands apart. Then I will post the hand that I wanted people's opinion on based on the history of this person's play. To me it feels like the right play since I felt that I had an edge at the time even with those outs.I'll change the names of the person to VILLAIN and You can address me as HERO in the history. Please let me know if it's the right play if not then what would people do in this situation? Thank you, I appreciate any feedback :)
please NOTE**
I don't have the players VP$IP or PFR OR AF as I don't use a HUD.

Hand 1 - 56o - good fold

Hand 2 - 38o - good fold

Hand 3 - K5o -

Since you are in the big blind, I suppose it is ok to call a min-raise for one more bet, but K5o is a marginal hand.

As played, on the flop, you check (correct) but then you call the villain's bet. Why? You have nothing here, not even Ace high. You should be folding there, not shoving. Although the villain was obviously stealing and just got lucky on the turn with the 10.

Just fold K5o and wait for a better spot.

By the way, you're not shortstacked. You have 27 big blinds, which is plenty to work with. Shortstack is considered to have ~10 bigs or less.

Thanks for the post and good luck. ;)

BearPlay, Thank you for replying I much appreciate it. I posted the first two hand history to show others what this particular player plays with, raises and also checks with. Just a little insight as to why I shoved with the K5o. Thanks again :)

Don't try to bluff a calling station.

it's OK to defend your BB vs a min raise from a crazy villain like this.

On the flop however, you have nothing and no draw. Even crazy players are entitled to have a hand every once in a while.

Just fold on this flop. You are essentially bluffing with K hi and bluffs are generally not recommended in freerolls.

When I got a bingo player at the felt I wait for someone else to play hands w/ them. Someone else will take them out. Then when that person takes them out I know that person is a fish and they have a bunch of chips they are now ready to give me.

When a player is this reliably calley - as long as you have enough chips you can wait for a spot where you are ahead and know you are ahead. You don't have to take a chance on a barely +ev shove with no hand and no draw - even with a draw I'd avoid betting draws against a calling station since you can just bet when you hit the draw and you'll get the call then.

Stay patient against this type of player and you'll get their chips as long as someone else doesn't beat you to it.

In all hands easy fold preflop,, Against villains in freeroll, with marginal hands you can do very more mistakes, make life easier and only fold..
