9 players post ante of 10, SB posts SB 50, BB posts BB 100

Pre Flop: (pot: 240) Hero has 5 2

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 300, fold, BB raises to 413 and is all-in, Hero calls 113

Flop: (966, 2 players) T Q K

Turn: (966, 2 players) 5

River: (966, 2 players) 4

Hero shows 5 2 (One Pair, Fives)
(Pre 41%, Flop 19%, Turn 84%)
BB shows 4 A (One Pair, Fours)
(Pre 59%, Flop 81%, Turn 16%)
Hero wins 966

I think yes... When villain shoves I was getting 7.5-1 to call and I had a suited gapper and with villain having 4 bbs he could be shoving a lot wider. His reaction was abusive by callling me an idiot and retard :D I laughed and totally ignored him :D This was playing in the CC freeroll.

Easy call once you've raised 3BB's on the button you have to 100% of the time call off the remainder of the all in from the villain. I tend to try and avoid these spots though since the majority of the time the short stack in the BB will be going all in since they basicslly have a quarter of thrir stavk invested and you're gonna be behind pretty much all the time but in a freeroll it wouldn't matter too much anyway

yahuh.

the key in these spots when you have a shortstacker in the blinds who will very likely be all in is to ask yourself will you be happy to call his shove and see 5 cards?

If the answer to that is a yes then call, if not, then fold. But before you raise you need to see the possible outcomes, the most likely is that if we fold the SB will raise the BB doing the work for us, and if we raise the most likely outcome is that the BB will jam all in and we're priced into calling. I usually err towards high card strength hands in these spots, so instead of raising the lower suited connectors, i'm much happier raise/calling the Q5 J7 type hands that have high card strength as he's going to be somewhere between an ATC to 50% range here.

Oh and you want to be looking at your stack size and how much a loss of 400 chips represents to you. You also need to think about letting the BB double up easier since you are playing such a weak range he's more likely to double and become more of a pain in the ass next orbit.

Yea that was my thought process. I didn't mind losing 400 if he doubled up. I was stealing with the thought if SB raises I fold and if BB shoves I will call. I just carried on being a luck box till my KK's were cracked on the river when it spiked an ace, then I shoved TT's into aces :D Can't win them all :)

Once you've raised, of course you must call. But in spots like these I will usually skip the button raise even with suited connectors because it is SO likely I'll have to show down this hand at some point because of short stack in the blinds. This is the forward planning part of poker. there are no "standard" plays really....it always matters the specific stack sizes and tendencies of remaining players. I don't really even care about the short stack himself and whether I lose or win 400 chips; I just don't want to the other players at the table to see the bottom of my button raising range.

The villain obv gonna call with his remaining stack,i would prefer a raise with small pair+,Ace rags in this situation.

Suited cards - a decent option for a game with such a stack
