I decided to shove from BB against a person who repeatedly did reraise from the button against a loose players raise from early position to steal the pot. My guess based on just a few previous hands was that he is stealing those and that my AT is likely to be good enough. Is this just gambling or is a play like this justifiable?
BB - me
UTG first raiser - loose player
CO reraiser - supposed stealer

Yeah you would never be shoving here with this stack usually unless you had a solid read on the player, and tbh this far into a freeroll i doubt that would be the case. I think a big thing that i realised through playing is that hands like A10 are really quite weak to be showdowning with, and even playing. Have you actually seen this player show down any of these hands which he is supposedly restealing with? if not you cant be sure of what he is doing it with.

Thaks for the opinions.
I probably made a bold assumption here based on insuficient data.
However it is still possible, that the guy just got his lucky cards there. In fact he was calling my shove with an AJ which was just that little bit better than my AT so I was not wrong by a mile :).

Gday, I too hate being in this postion, so late in the game, Me, I would of folded, just knowing the other players betting history. Unfortunate, for you, giving the shove was a big call, even though you had the A, the 10 is always a weak kicka.

I seldom play A/10, especially at the stage of the game, and the only reason I would shove, is if they were suited.

Ya dont listen to that advice even tho he just stated what i said. Shoving with A10 only because its suited in that situation? lol :)

exactly what i said. At best ur against AJ+ so if u think that u didnt make a bad call because u were only off by one card from being crushed u have some learning to do. GL

OK, OK. A get your point here, you seem very sure and I agree with you:).

But: Can you imagine any situation when a shove with cards like this would be appropriate?
While shortstacked? Or when I was quite sure that the other person does steal? And how big(based on what) that read would have to be, to possibly justify the shove?

definitely not 4 betting with A10 unless villains have repeatedly 3bet with air i guess, but still i dont like it

its not a GREAT spot for shortstackers but its also not the worst spot
