First of all it's a freeroll and the people in freerols mostly don't play their best game in freerols. For me, AJ is a hand that usually folds very quickly. I think I would have played a little calmer if the hand had been played. AJ isn't such a bad hand, but it's only 2 high cards. It's important to watch how people play at the table. after your first raise there was a reraise and of course he could have bluffed, but it could also be that he had AA or KK or another pair in his hand.

Pre flop I think your 5x raise sizing is okay but 4x is probably better due to situations like this. 4x is large enough to isolate but saves us a BB if we do get 3 bet (and on the large side of 3 bets) and decide to fold. In this spot even though we can see villain is loose (only 6 hands) I tend to lean towards folding because I think more often than not I am behind and also am out of position. I wouldnt think (I was wrong of course) that villain would be doing this with A10, A9, KQ, KJ type hands. Therefore being with what I think as worse cards and out of position I would fold and move on.

As played on the flop our SPR is low at only 1.25 yet we started the hand with 98 BBs so it is a weird situation that you shouldnt encounter often. When making the call pre flop I think we made up our minds there that we are discounting AA-QQ for whatever reason or we would not have called. Therefore, even though I dont like it, I think with a SPR of just over 1 we have to go with top pair top kicker here. I dont like leading the flop though as it could make 99 and 1010 fold or at least consider folding and that would be a tradge for us. I would decide I am going with the hand but would opt for a check raise here and depending on villains size of their C bet (I assume they would bet here) I would then just put it in. I am not saying I love this play but this is the bed we made we called pre flop for 20% of our stack, have a SPR of 1.25, and have top pair, top kicker.

As played going to the turn you did the only thing you could which was just put the rest in. From there it is just is what it is. I was surprised both players were as light as they were. Bad two outer King (of course any Q would do you in as well).

You ask how to play this hand better:

1. Raise to 4x instead of 5x since 4x will do the job most of the time and slightly cheaper to fold if you have to.
2. Try to range your opponents best you can (even if you are wrong as I was, still attempt to no matter how much or how little info you have) and dont be afraid to fold if you think you most likely have the worst hand and are out of position.
3. If you are going with a hand on the flop in these spots and you feel villain is aggressive, check to the raiser and let them put a bet in and then check raise over that bet to get more value when you are correct that you are ahead. Don't let the villain have a chance at getting off the hook easily.

i think button 3 bet is terrible because kq is a very strong hand to see the flop however is weak against any 4 bet shove. the problem witn calling with aj is that you wont be beating many hands. here villain makes a mistake by 3 betting a hand that will lose against any ace. however in most scenarios villain is going to have aq or better so you should consider folding the hand after the 3 bet. also 5x raise preflop is quite a lot with aj offsuit, because it isnt a very strong hand so instead i would have raised 3 or maybe 3.5 to 4bb but not more than that.
