The reason being is that you are the chip leader and you can risk the 700 chips unlike some of the others.

Me, too. That said, it's this precise move that often turns my big stack into a small stack. I consider my propensity to call the short stack a big leak.

I would have folded this. Even though your chip leader at the table, I wouldn't feel too good risking 800 chips. It just doesn't seem like a risk worth taking. At best your 50/50, but could easily be dominated by another pocket pair. You have no idea what he has since you haven't seen him play at all. I would much rather wait for a better spot to be calling here.

I always play low pocket pairs cautiously so maybe this advice is wrong, but it's the way I would have played this hand.
