To celebrate joining the team here at Cards Chat, I'm going to analyze the first five hands that are posted in this thread. Please include as much detail as possible about the hand, including

Stakes and any other information about the game.
Stack Sizes for all players involved.
Positions of all players involved.
What you know about your opponents. What they looked like, how old they were, any stats if the hand was online, anything at all from how you had seen them play in the past to how they stacked their chips.
What your opponents knew about you. Anything from how you look to your table image and hands you had recently played.
All relevant cards, including suits. If you aren't sure, make them up.
All bet sizes. If you aren't sure, make them up.
What you thought during the hand. Include what you thought your opponent's range might be, how you thought they might respond to your plays, anything that was important to you in making your decision.

Vague hand descriptions will get vague answers. Precise hand descriptions will get in-depth analysis. I charge $100 an hour for lessons, and you're getting this for free, so take advantage of it and give me lots of information to work with.

I think we've all posted threads with good intent, but they just got buried in the forums over time. Here is one such thread I've had unanswered for a while:

https://www.cardschat.com/forum/lea...-calling-range-based-these-conditions-482881/

Surprisingly, I don't have any current hands which have stumped me. Whenever I play a hand in live poker, I write down the details on paper to analyze later if the hand felt significant enough for me to jot down but I don't record every hand this way.

I'm sure finding hands to get answered would be a ton easier if I played online with a HUD (or some tracking software) as I'd then have many situations recorded and specifics with bet sizes, stack sizes and effective stacks etc. (which I typically only can estimate in live).

Any tracking HUDs you recommend? Other than DriveHUD 30 day free trial (which I liked), I've never used a HUD or a method to keep track of my online hands. Currently, I just play cardschat freerolls and cardschat events (and super small live homegames) and use the free poker calculator Equilab for post-game analysis on any hands I want to investigate (I was planning to try poker at a casino when the covid pandemic hit, so I've still yet to go to one for poker, but at least I've been learning just that much more over time).

If I had hand details like this to share, then I'm sure I'd have plenty of potential questions to post about :D

Good luck finding members to post in response to your thread topic though :)
Who knows? Perhaps I might even revisit this thread in the future, but by then you'd probably have many more than 5 posts answered. Well, hopefully my post at least helps bump this thread to the surface of the forums again, so this thread gets recognized as it deserves; see you around cardschat :)

Maybe an example hand submission and analysis will help get it going.

My apologies Phoenix, I am new to the forums and thought that it would automatically subscribe me to this thread so I would get emails when there were replies, but it didn't and I didn't see yours until now. I am trying to figure out how to do that so it won't happen again.

I have been using PokerTracker 4 for years, and it's great. I think the free option works for things like the CC freerolls, but I'm not sure. It's worth checking out.

Since you seem to know your way around, what do you think is the best way I can offer some value to the forums here? I've done some strategy stuff, but it all seems to end up as an article and posted in the news section of the site, which many forum members probably don't know about.

I understand; everyone is newer to the forums at some point - that isn't the same as "new to poker" though - you've certain gotten me crushed by a lot in that department ;) I've only been playing poker a bit over a year (entirely through cardschat in one way or another) :icon_stud

I would love for there to be a future feature where we could get notified of posts on our threads of a way of "following" or "bookmarking" threads. As of now, I don't think cardschat has this feature - the closest thing is that an email is automatically sent to you every time someone "Quotes" something you posted, but not all replies are quoted and even these automatic emails can be canceled via cardschat settings.

Thanks for all your help as you've done plenty with your in-depth responses :) I'll keep Pokertracker 4 in mind when shopping for a HUD in the near future - see ya around cardschat :top:
