I'd have raised pre-flop to 300 for a start, and bet a little more post flop. The post flop call is pretty standard, i'd be happy to let someone else do the betting, and of course you want the other guy to call, but you could have bet a little more the following 2 streets. You left select (who played the hand terribly by the way) with 500 chips, and i'd like to think i'd have taken him out there.

about the only thing you could have done really if you would have raised he would have probably folded too you came out a little further ahead i think, maybe raised preflop but then you could have made everyone fold. something similar happened to me recently had pr 2s, flop gave me 3 i bet everyone folded except 1 guy, next card another 2 for 4 of a kind i bet he stayed, next card i bet he folded then harrassed me about it said i played it wrong... how much did you win, how much could you have won etc. was nothing i could do i bet he folded i surely was not going to bet.

very true i was hoping he would reraise on river and i had a tight table image so if i had raised i would have takin it down preflop and most of the time poc pairs dont hold up usually a higher card on the board prs someone so tried to give myself outs so i could fold to high cards and big bets after flop

You can't not raise pre-flop with a pair of Jacks just because there is a minute chance you would have flopped quads!

Preflop aside.

I guess raising the turn wouldve raised "jack" flags, so i dont mind just calling the turn, although i think id have raised it to 600, because of the straight draw and flush draw. If someones hoping for one of them, then you should take his money now.

But you couldve gotten away with a much larger bet on the river i think.

Agree with this^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Pf was terrible letting this go 5-way with jacks. On the flop smooth calling is best because there are players left to act after you and you want to get as many involved as you can with a hand that is virtually unbeatable like the one you have. More players in = more chances of someone catching a big 2nd best hand. On the turn and river since it was checked to you I'd probably bet a little more than you did considering the size of the pot at that point, and it should have been easy to get "select" committed to it and take his whole stack.

Unless he made a straight you have to know its very hard that he'll raise you on the river with a pair on the board, your job is to try to get him committed to the pot before that since his stack isn't big. This didn't go too bad you still made a nice pot, but that extra 500 should have been yours also against such a poor opponent, and so early in in the tourney getting 500 more makes a huge difference.
