This hand was played on the CC-FT-freeroll 18.11.2008

Two players trying to play each other out.

I didn't succeed.

Any mistakes save playing KJo ?

I could have raised pf but probably wouldn't have changed much, here.

....thinking about it there was no need to shove here...

Wrong read here I guess...?

Hard to see it though.
He limps AKo.
Calls the minibet on flop. No reraise there (would it have chased me away ?).
The 2/3 pot-bet on turn looked like a bluff (or semibluff x8).
I should have thought harder on the reraise on turn and flat called the 160 before, maybe.
But it was just too sticky.

Real tough spot here. I don't care how great a player is (or thinks he is), it's real tough to get away from flopping trips with a decent kicker. Plus, here the turn would be an obvious brick for any kind of draw someone would flop. I wouldn't beat yourself up about this one.

I think I trapped myself and played it wrong here.

(after some thinking about it)

Looking at the flop there are four possibilities:

1. I dominate the hand (opp has nothing)
2. I am dominated by 88,K8,AK,AQ (well in range, even for limping too)
3. opp has x8.
4. opp has a weaker hand Kx.

The way I played this hand was terrible:

- If he had nothing he folds to any raise or reraise.
- If he has x8 he folds on my turn reraise, too.
- If he has Kx lower than KJ he might call or maybe he won't.
- If he has 88, AK he will shove.

...so I'm only getting calls when I'm way behind or only slightly ahead.

- I gave free cards away - possible flush after turn, Kx could hit its kicker.

Given the narrow space I could move in here (only realistic chance for good

payoff was Kx) I should have flat called turn and keep him guessing.

Then bet about 200 on river but would I have folded to an all-in reraise on

the river ???

Fact is I got outplayed here nicely, his limping AK and checking on flop

with that board caught me in my own trap.:eek::eek:

You didn't really get outplayed, he played his AK pretty horribly.

That said nothing he did is as bad as limping from UTG+1 with KJ - this is an absolutely standard fold but I'm guessing you know this.

Yeah, though I was MP2 - it's still a fold.
I don't really know why I played it.
Maybe I was just too tired (around 3am).
