I would have reraised on the turn with the boat...he has the nut flush, he ain't going away...

Then when he bets his flush on the river...push it!!!
He is a donkey...he's not gonna care about those Queens anymore...he has the flush and thinks he has the best hand...

But hey, as long as you got the pot, you ain't complaining, right?

I'd raise the turn.

For me, the justification behind checking the flop is that he either has a very strong hand (trips or top pair) or he has a very weak hand (a gutterball or an underpair). Plus, since this is a rainbow flop, the turn is unlikely to scare him. Hopefully if he's on the draw, he'll hit it. If he has a made hand, he'll still like it just as much on the turn.

On the turn, things have changed. There's only one more card for him to hit a gutterball or a lower full house. Plus there are two hearts, and you wouldn't want him to get nervous about trip queens on the river if the flush came. If he has trip queens, you'll make a lot more by raising the turn.

It just so happened that you got lucky and he hit a backdoor flush. I think the play was perfect for this given hand, but it's such an unlikely scenario overall.

Raise river to ~800 IMO.
I agree, although you didnt know the strength of his hand and I have the benifit of 20/20 hindsight, You could have made a lot more chips with a flush out on the board.

This is an unusual hand in that opp has a hand worth fighting for. Usually you will bet out most opps with junk, or maybe even 2 pair here, but in this case You might bet big on the river. The concept would be to make opp think you are trying to steal this pot. So something over the pot size almost always looks like a steal. But that is so close to all in, you just shove here, I would guess that 99.9999% of the time any player in the whole world would be calling with the nut flush.

If he's going to call 540 on the river, he's probably going to call at least the 800 vanquish recommends and I'd probably go a bit more.
